Level 1 prepares athletes with basic techniques and foundational skills. Students become accustomed to the training routine, and learn best practices for developing their abilities. A high level of individual attention is afforded to each student to ensure that they build excellent habits and are prepared to progress to the next level. Athletic development includes strength, flexibility, balance, strength and coordination. Curriculum includes all basic strikes, blocks, kicks and stances, Taegeuk Il Jang and Ee Jang, and basic sparring footwork.

Level 2 builds on the solid foundation developed in Level 1. Students ascend to more advanced techniques and are subject to additional requirements for promotion. Athletes are encouraged to train independently to supplement their coaching and accelerate their development. Athletic development includes speed, agility, power and reaction time. Curriculum includes intermediate kicks, Taegeuk Sam Jang, Sa Jang, O Jang and Yook Jang, as well as Olympic sparring . Level 2 students are eligible to compete with our team!

Level 3 students are preparing for their 1st dan black belt. Advanced athletics are required at this stage, with emphasis placed on plyometrics to support jumping and spinning techniques. Competitors are encouraged to specialize in either sparring or poomsae at this stage. Students are coached to master the physical and technical requirements for black belt.

The Level 4 program is structured differently from the lower levels. Students attend at minimum 1 technique class and 1 conditioning class per week, and have the option to attend specialized poomsae and sparring classes. Level 4 students have unlimited access to supervised “Open Mat” sessions where they can train independently and request coach assistance as needed.
